Formed in 1979, the Endellion String Quartet is renowned as one of the finest quartets in the world, captivating concertgoers with a remarkable rapport, ‘playing to each other with a sense almost of discovery, communicating to the audience on a level of unusual intimacy’ (The Guardian). ‘In music of the Viennese Classical composers it has few challengers’ (The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians, 2000).

Officially formed in 1969 at the Juilliard School of Music, the Tokyo String Quartet has collaborated with a remarkable array of artists and composers, built a comprehensive catalogue of critically acclaimed recordings and established a distinguished teaching record. Performing over a hundred concerts worldwide each season, the Quartet has a devoted international following and has been quartet-in-residence at Yale School of Music since 1976.
