Indian e-visas now extended to UK nationals

posted on 24/08/15

With such a vast architectural, historical and cultural heritage, India has much to offer travellers, however the process of obtaining an Indian tourist visa has, until now, been considered a formidable task.

Martin Randall Travel, along with many others in the travel industry, has welcomed the news of the extension of the e-visa to British citizens, which will make obtaining an Indian visa simpler, quicker and less expensive.

Visitors from countries all over the globe including Australia, Canada, the USA  and, since 15th August 2015, the UK can now apply for the e-visa which costs £39 plus a small administration fee, and apply, pay and upload documents online. The visa can be applied for 30 days in advance of entry and is valid for a stay of up to 30 days, but cannot be extended.

James Palmer, Operations Executive for our India tours, says “This is a very encouraging development for British nationals travelling to India. It is no longer necessary to surrender one's passport before departure or go through the tedious process of queuing at a visa centre”.
