Our first all-inclusive Music Festival in 2011 will be A Festival of Music in Venice (13–18 March 2011). It features the finest interpreters of music from the golden age of Venetian music (Gabrieli, Monteverdi, Vivaldi) performing in some of the most glorious interior spaces in Europe, all within the most beautiful city on Earth.
Musicians of the calibre of the Gabrieli Consort, Christopher Maltman, La Venexiana, Iestyn Davies and Accademia Bizantina, perform 7 concerts in 7 contrasting but magnificent historic venues, including Santa Maria dei Miracoli, Scuola Grande di San Rocco, Palazzo Pisani Moretta and Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari.
Admission to the concerts is exclusive to those who take a package, the price for which includes accommodation for five nights in one of eight carefully selected 4- and 5-star hotels within the historic centre around St Marks, including the Gritti and Danieli; flights between the UK and Venice, from London Heathrow and Gatwick (there is a price reduction for those who make their own arrangements for getting to Venice); boat transfers (private motoscafo) from Venice Airport to the hotels and vice versa; vaporetto and museum pass allowing unlimited use of the water buses for the duration of the festival and free entry to many churches and museums; meals: four dinners (one is a buffet), all with wine, water and coffee, and all breakfasts. Interval drinks are provided during some concerts; lectures on the music by renowned musicologist Roderick Swanston; all tips for restaurant staff, porters, etc; all taxes and obligatory charges.
Prices depend on the hotel and flight options available and range from £2,390 to £5,530 per person.
Martin Randall Travel is the pioneer of all-inclusive music festivals, matching music with place by performing private concerts in appropriate historic buildings. These own-brand festivals comprise some of the most musically rewarding and intellectually stimulating music holidays available.
The four other all-inclusive music festivals in 2011 are:
A Festival of Music in Castile (11–15 June 2011)
Renaissance and Baroque music in Burgos, Lerma and Peñaranda de Duero. Based throughout in Burgos, an architectural delight with Spain’s finest cathedral, outstanding churches and palaces and picturesque streets and squares. Musicians include the Gabrieli Consort, Orphenica Lyra and José Miguel Moreno.
The Seine Music Festival (3–10 July 2011)
Nine private concerts of French music in châteaux, churches and theatres along the Seine. Musicians of the highest calibre include the Labèque sisters, Joan Rodgers and Ensemble Clément Janequin. The audience lives on a comfortable river cruiser, the Viking Spirit, which sails through alluring scenery from the centre of Paris to Rouen and back again.

The annual Danube Festival is transformed for one year only into a festival of Lieder with nine recitals in historic palaces, theatres, manor houses and concert halls. Full details available in October.
