Opera at home

posted on 22/04/20

Having closed their doors temporarily, many major opera houses are opening their virtual doors and offering online programmes of past performances via their websites and social media channels.

As we look forward to a time when we will once again be able to attend live performances, where we offer related future tours, these are mentioned below.

New York’s Metropolitan Opera is streaming a different performance each day for a period of 24 hours. Access these via its website, or on smart devices and TVs via the Met Opera ‘on demand’ apps (information also provided on their website).

The Paris Opera has launched a similar service, with a complete opera or ballet performance available free of charge on its website each week until the beginning of May. You can also take a virtual tour of the Palais Garnier.
