Short Music & History events
For our annual series of chamber music events, we engage some of the finest ensembles in the UK and Europe. Within an overarching theme, the music is carefully chosen and programmed to provide an illuminating sequence. Talks with a musicologist – or by the musicians themselves – are incorporated. While the events are undeniably indulgent and leisurely retreats, they are also intended to stimulate the mind and enchant the aesthetic sensibilities. Tickets to individual concerts (without accommodation and meals) are also available to book.
Our history weekends each focus on a particular aspect or period of history, with talks by leading experts, Q&A sessions and plenary discussions. Your accommodation is included in the price, as are most meals.
