Cultural tours in Egypt
Our cultural tours to Egypt unlock the mysteries of ancient kingdoms. Our small group tours journey across ancient routes, visiting the Valley of the Kings, surveying the Pyramids at Giza, Abu Simbel and following the Nile to Karnak temples. All in the company of Egypt expert Lloyd Llewellyn-Jones, specialist in the history of the Near East and author of works on the Hellenistic world, ancient Persia, and queens of Egypt.
Uncovering Egypt’s history on a Martin Randall Travel tour
Our Egypt history tours combine archaeological insights with exclusive access to treasured sites. We enjoy special early morning access to the Great Pyramid's burial chamber, private viewings in Cairo's Egyptian Museum, and exclusive evening visits to Philae Temple. Lesser-known wonders include the mastaba tombs of Saqqara, sunrise visits to Abu Simbel's rock-cut temples, and the painted tombs in Luxor's Valley of the Nobles.
The eagerly anticipated reopening of the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM), housing the world’s largest collection of Egyptian artifacts coincides with our 2026 Egypt tour. We spend a morning there, examining King Tut’s full treasure collection amongst other precious relics. In the afternoon, our tour of Giza delves deep into Egypt's most iconic archaeological attraction. Witnessing the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx in the company of an expert speaker gives unparalleled insight into over 4,500 years of history.
