Dr Mauro Puddu
Dr Mauro Puddu is an archaeologist at Siena, University for Foreigners. Over the past 15 years, he has excavated archaeological sites across Sardinia, mainland Italy, England, Croatia, and Palestine. After studying in Cagliari and UCL, he earned his PhD at Cambridge. One of his greatest privileges was directing Nuraghe Seruci, where his grandfather used to graze his sheep. Born and raised bilingual (Sardinian and Italian), he researches everyday lives in the Roman Empire, and is passionate about foregrounding the diverse perspectives that shape the past. When not digging, you’ll probably find him swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, at the Venice Film Festival, or walking with his dog Nora.
