VOCES8 perform as part of Rachel Podger's ‘A Guardian Angel’ collaboration

posted on 15/03/19

Filmed in Brecon Cathedral, VOCES8 perform a beautiful rendition of James MacMillan’s ‘Domine non secundum peccata nostra’, part of Rachel Podger's ‘A Guardian Angel’ collaboration with the vocal ensemble.

Both Rachel Podger (Gramophone Artists of the Year 2018) and VOCES8 will be performing at Wells Cathedral in July for our West Country Choral Festival (7–11 July 2019).

This new addition to Martin Randall Festivals is based throughout in Bath, ventures across Gloucestershire, Somerset and Devon for eight concerts in magnificent settings, including Wells, Exeter and Gloucester Cathedrals. The repertoire spans the Renaissance to the present day, featuring works by Tallis, Handel and Walton, as well as composers from southern Europe and the Baltics. Among the performers are the choirs of Gloucester and Exeter Cathedrals, and vocal ensemble Ex Cathedra, who perform Tallis' 40-part motet Spem in alium. The experience is enriched by lectures on medieval architecture and choral music.
