Dr Silvia Zago

Lecturer in Egyptology at the University of Liverpool and specialist in ancient Egyptian religion and afterlife. She obtained her PhD at the University of Toronto, having previously studied at the Universities of Venice and Pisa. She has excavated at several archaeological sites in Italy, Egypt and Oman, and she is currently a member of the mission of the Institut Français d’Archéologie Orientale (IFAO) to Deir el-Medina (Luxor, Egypt). Her publications include A Journey through the Beyond: The Development of the Concept of Duat and Related Cosmological Notions in Egyptian Funerary Literature (Lockwood Press, 2022), the first comprehensive study of the evolution of notions of the otherworld.
