Living and learning with friends
Our tour operator was Martin Randall. Pre-travel information and service was excellent. On tour the day-trips were well planned, varied and accommodating. The lecturer was very well informed and generous with his time and knowledge. The tour leader never failed to attend to our needs.
Superbly organised and operated - shame about the perfomance
Relatives who have travelled with MR extol their standards, and I can now see why. It is hard to think of ways in which those parts of the experience under MR control could have been improved. On days between performances we were whisked off by luxury coaches to various sites outside the city centre...

Based in Lincoln, this was a series of concerts of music primarily by Byrd and his contemporaries performed by various choral and other groups in a variety of venues connected with Byrd.
Courts of Northern Italy
I learnt so much of the relevant history; also saw Ravenna mosaics for first time since 1965, needed revisiting! Lovely group of people; excellent lecturer and tour manager.
Very satisfied
They were helpful in dealing with my independent travel to and from the destination. By separating the duties of tour manager and specialist guide/lecturer the atmosphere was relaxed.
A lifetime's ambition fulfilled.
Martin Randall go to a lot of trouble to get things right, but it shows in the very high prices. For a specialist tour like this, they can be justified, but I would never use them for a run-of-the-mill destination. So I could only recommend them to a certain type of traveller.

visited London railway termini with lunch and coffee /tea breaks. Covered enormous range of interesting subjects peripheral to this central subject…e.g. art architecture,history,redevelopment. Highly recommended for those short of time to take longer break
Outstanding value experience
Excellent in all respects: tour manager, architectural/cultural guide, accommodation, food, well selected parts of the Camino Frances.
