Dr Tom Nickson

Tom studied Art History at Cambridge and the Courtauld, taught at the University of York, and returned to the Courtauld in 2012. His research explores medieval architecture and visual culture across Europe and the Mediterranean from the twelfth to fifteenth centuries. His book, Toledo Cathedral: Building Histories in Medieval Castile (2015) examines architecture within its wider cultural and urban context. His current work investigates the sensory experience of medieval buildings and the relationship between architecture and the environment.
