Dr John Brady
Lecturer and researcher specialising in contemporary Irish literature and history. His doctoral research blends urban, economic and social history with literary analysis. This interdisciplinary approach informs his research and teaching.
He was awarded a masters and PhD in Irish Studies (Literature and History) with the University of Galway where he continues to teach courses on modern and contemporary Irish literature in both the Irish and English language traditions in the Centre for Irish Studies.
He has a particular interest in the contribution of literary works to our historical understanding; lesser-known Irish authors; issues concerning place, language, culture in modern and contemporary Irish literature; and food studies and gastronomy.
