Australian update

posted on 27/05/15

This year Martin Randall Australasia celebrates fifteen years since we set up office in Brisbane. We (Stephanie Bourgeois and myself) are now working in a new office. Fitted out by Steph, who, among other things, trained as an interior designer, our new premises are much more appropriate to the nature of the business and provide a cosy welcoming working environment. And at last there is plenty of space for all those MRT brochure boxes. It is part of a group of heritage shops, endowed with the temptation of an excellent coffee shop at our back door.

We feel particularly privileged this year to be working with two of our favourite cultural institutions in Brisbane.

Martin Randall Australasia is sponsoring American pianist Peter Serkin’s recital for Medici Concerts' excellent International Piano Series. Serkin, described as 'one of the supreme musicians of our time' (New York Magazine) will perform a programme including Mozart, Beethoven, Schoenberg, Nielsen and Reger. If you would like to join us there for interval drinks on Sunday 10th May, please let us know by 30th April. You can purchase tickets for $50 (a 32% reduction) by calling QTIX on 136 246 and mentioning the Martin Randall Travel offer.

We also have the good fortune to have launched our collaboration with the Queensland Art Gallery | Gallery of Modern Art with our tour Castile and Madrid for QAGOMA Members. This special journey focuses on some of the Europe's greatest works of art. The ancient kingdom of Castile has a breathtaking proliferation of Romanesque churches, Gothic splendours, Moorish masterpieces and art museums of staggering richness which take you from Prehistory to Picasso's Guernica.

It is led by Gijs van Hensbergen, specialist in the art, history and cuisine of Spain and author of Gaudí, In the Kitchens of Castile and Guernica. He has described it as his dream itinerary. If you would like to join the tour, QAGOMA is offering a 20% discount on membership to all participants – email members@qagoma.qld.gov.au.

To discuss these or any other tours, please contact Steph or myself on 1300 55 95 95 or anz@martinrandall.com.au. Or if you live locally, pop into our Taringa office at 26 Hillsdon Road (please let us know you are coming first!).
