My very first days at Martin Randall Travel were spent helping to finalise the arrangements for our Rhine Valley Music Festival. This was July 1997, a time before emails and mobile phones, when the booking system was a series of paper charts. Back then, as now, we had chartered a ship exclusively for our 100 clients, to sail along the Rhine from small town to large, from folly to schloss, disembarking for a sequence of private concerts programming the rich and varied repertoire of the region.
In each of our festivals since, we have created an experience as musically fulfilling as you could wish for, “transformative”, “life-enhancing”, say recent passengers, for an audience from around the globe, drawn together by a shared appetite for world-class classical music in magical settings. Chewing the fat on the ship over dinner each night is a further pleasurable dimension.
In the below online brochure, you will find details of our three river festivals for 2026: Music along the Rhine, The Rhine Piano Festival and Music along the Danube. All were designed and programmed by our Artistic Director, Lizzie Watson, all feature a first-class ship chartered exclusively for our audience, all offer an extraordinary line-up of musicians and music performed just for us, all are enhanced by talks by an expert on board, all will give you a relaxed week of good food, good wine and good company.
The same can be said of our other cruises, replacing the music with a focus on history, art, architecture, archaeology, gardens, wine, but always with our own ship and guest speaker, and with special arrangements a feature. In 2026, these include Cambodia by River, Sailing the Dalmatian Coast, History & Art along the Danube and Cruising the Douro.
See here for full details of our cruises and festivals: www.martinrandall.com/event-types. Or please call us. We are here to help you navigate and would love to assist.
With best wishes,
Fiona Charrington
